Blackie Lawless is a Metal legend. That cannot be denied. And we're all aware of the quality of his songwriting and album releases. But what should be stated more often is how he is one of Metal's most gifted vocalists. From the harrowing emotive, to the causticly grating, Blackie's vocal range has long been W.A.S.P.'s signature, just as much as the very familiar songs we all know and love. And it's those songs that keep us coming back for more. Whether it's the typical but glorious fare heard on Babylon, the nod to the old days that was Helldorado, the successful attempt to tweak the W.A.S.P. sound that we heard on K.F.D., or their first mature & darker statement of intent called The Headless Children, we do keep coming back for more 25 years later. I only had less than 30 minutes to speak with Blackie, and that just was not nearly enough time. He's in my top 5 people that I must speak with, so I had alot to discuss. Since Blackie had much to say, we could only cover so much ground, which included the new album Babylon, live performance, and Blackie's thoughts on a few songs from W.A.S.P.'s career. After listening, you must crank Still Not Black Enough, Babylon and The Last Command. And then proceed to crank all the other W.A.S.P. albums.
