BRADLEYS was a small Spanish bar tucked  away  around the back of Tottenham Court Road tube station,  in Hanway Street. Back in the 80’s & 90’s we used to go down  there a lot, especially before a night out at a club across the road in Soho. In those days it wasn’t so easy to find decent music in pub’s an bars.  The overall quality of the jukebox in Bradleys, which they rotated  every so often, was a lot better than most places.  with a selection of decent tunes from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. It was small, squashed & a bit tatty round’ the edges, but we loved it.  We always preferred downstairs,  & if you got there early enough  in the evening you might even get a seat. So here’s a snapshot or a little reminder of what it would’ve been like back in the day.  (Actually I re-visited recently & it’s still there, it’s still open & it hasn’t changed  that much either). 1 The Stray Cats- Rock This Town 2 The Velvettes-He Was Really Sayin’ Somethin’ 3 Echo & The Bunnymen-The Cutter 4 T-Rex-Solid Gold Easy Action 5 Gene Vincent-Be Bop A Lula 6 Yazoo-Situation 7 Chic-Everybody Dance 8 Ritchie Valens-Come On, Let’s Go 9 The Jam-Going Underground 10 The Jimi Hendrix Experience-Stone Free 11 Jerry Lee Lewis-Breathless 12 The Clash-Long Time Jerk 13 Aretha Franklin-Think 14 Elvis Presley-Hound Dog 15 David Bowie-John, I’m Only Dancing 16 The Rolling Stones-Brown Sugar 17 Little Richard-Long Tall Sally 18 Soft Cell-Tainted Love 19 The Doors-Roadhouse Blues 20 Beginning Of The End-Funky Nassau 21 The Sex Pistols-Pretty Vacant 22 Chuck Berry-No Particular place To Go
